Malmö Culture Collective presents the exhibition Worldly/Otherworldly: a mix of sculpture, textile, and image by artists Sajan Rai, Elise Alexandersson, Ellen Sahlberg, Jose David Cifuentes Ulloa, and Ella Öjebo, and antiracist comics magazine ParaVox is represented by Layal Safieddine, Kinga Dukaj, and Mattias Elftorp.
Malmö Culture Collective is an organisation working to expand the cultural life of Malmö by creating space where artists from all backgrounds are allowed to express themselves and share their knowledge and experience.
Worldly/Otherworldly is a wide theme which attempts to explore the borders between this world and a possible other. With art as our means we try to address this separation.

ParaVox
Trying to navigate between racist laws and these times of genocide and deportations, ParaVox is a platform for voices of resistance in comics form. Comic creators and writers from different countries come together in this new comic book to look at reality and cross the line between art/storytelling on one hand, and being part of a social evolution on the other. An attempt at doing activism in comics form.
In this exhibition, we’ll have the books and show material from the three, maybe four, first issues:
#1 PALESTINE: The genocide continues despite what Israel is callsíng a ”ceasefire”, after decades of occupation and apartheid, and it affects not only Gaza and Palestine but also the surrounding countries. While people all over the world are protesting, their (our) governments make themselves accomplices in the ongoing catastrophe.
#2 (ANTI)RACISM: Racism is a virus that has spread over the world, while building walls both between peoples and individuals. We’re looking at some of its various forms, from laws to border controls to rhetorical whispers in the background noise of everyday life.
#3 SNITCH SOCIETY: The snitch society is a fact. It starts woth the undocumented, which is bad enough, but history shows how far it can go if we don’t put a stop to it.
#4 DISINFORMATION: Who can you trust in a time of false information? Is it all just excuses to start wars, or are they also after your money?
Layal Safieddine (Urjuen)
Swedish-Lebanese graphic narrator and illustrator, currently working with political satire. Having lived in South Lebanon as a teenager and a young adult, Layal is now back in Malmö, tending to plants, being fascinated with bugs, and working on a graphic novel concerned with negotiating the tensions and contradictions of individual identity, bound up with the intersections of belief, belonging, liberation, culture, and history, as they are understood from a materialist perspective. Co-editor of ParaVox and part of Tusen Serier.

Kinga Dukaj
Autodidact artist and web designer dabbling in various mediums. She’s a co-editor of ParaVox and CBA, part of CBK and Tusen Serier and works with Fanzineverkstaden in Malmö.

Mattias Elftorp
Writer, artist, editor etc. His main comics works are the cyberpunk postapocalypse series Piracy is Liberation, the angrily anarchist Angry Animal (Arg Kanin), books such as En Andra Chans (with Shko Askari), Me & my Daddy & Zlatan, The Troll, Bekele (with Raquel Lozano & Emre Özdamarlar), other books and short stories in anthologies like ParaVox, CBA, Alkom’X, Asylkalendern, etc. Active in Tusen Serier, CBK and Wormgod, co-editor of CBA and ParaVox.
